This guitar is made in the style 19th Century guitars by René Lacôte. This is the style of guitar played by Fernando Sor. This guitar is extremely easy to play due to a shorter scale (string) length and a slightly more narrow fingerboard width at the nut. Also, the action is set low. The basses are very strong and the trebles are sweet with good balance. The sitka spruce gives it a quick response. In the French style, the back is lined with spruce on the inside which gives a slightly softer and much sweeter tone. The peg heads look like standard friction peg heads but they are really internally geared so they work as smoothly as machine heads. The rosette is especially striking made of albalone 'diamonds and moons'. The sound is loud, clear and sweet and has that characteristic 19th century guitar sound. It is a more delicate sound than the modern classical guitar. Tuners: peg head tuners (internally geared) Neckwood: mahogony Fingerboard: ebony Famous players of this maker: Robin Welch, Mir Ali Model: Lacôte
