Luthien Guitar Model competed
8/2005
This guitar has great sound, low action, and is very easy to
play! It is, loud, clear and resonant with tone qualities of the modern
guitar, yet it is sweet and responsive. This
guitar also has a 12 hole bridge design which improves the 'string fall' over
the bridge saddle and enhances the appearance of the tie block.
The Luthien model incorporates these design points:
-Hauser shape and size
-René Lacôte design of lining the back with spruce
to sweeten the tone
-The modern design of lining the sides to stiffen
them to allow the top to vibrate without torsion effects on the sides
-Robert Bouchet's soundboard bracing pattern to
improve sustain and sound production

'
The Luthien' - New Model 1/2005
What would a modern guitar sound like if it
incorporated elements of modern design ideas with the best of the original 19th
century design ideas?
The Luthien Model is the result of combining
these designs:
-Hauser shape and size
-René Lacôte design of lining the back with spruce
to sweeten the tone
-The modern design of lining the sides to stiffen
them to allow the top to vibrate without torsion effects on the sides
-Robert Bouchet's soundboard bracing pattern to
improve sustain and sound production
What is the result? The Luthien Model!
This guitar is, loud, clear and resonant with tone qualities of the modern
guitar, yet it is sweet and responsive like a 19th Century guitar, with
beautiful overtones.
What does 'Luthien' mean? In Tolkien's tales,
Luthien Tinuviel was a beautiful elven princess whose name means
Nightingale Enchantress who chose mortality to marry a man, Beren.

Concerning the Edwards Panormo Style Guitar:
From a purchaser of an Edwards Panormo Guitar:
"After trying several 19th. century Panormo replicas,
I find the model built by Edwards to be one of the finest on the market today.
It has a big, warm sound, very easy to play and reproduces the sound of a
period instrument authentically. The icing on the cake is
the reasonable price! I am more than pleased. Bravo!"
Mir Ali, Classical Guitarist
From another concert, classical guitarist:
"This Panormo replica is first-rate, with a very responsive action and all of
the sound quality characteristics that one hopes to find in an early 19th
century guitar. It compares very well with all the authentic Panormo guitars I
have played."
Dr. Douglas James, Director
of Guitar Studies, Appalachian State University faculty and noted proponent of
period instrument performance.
